Roundup Cancer Lawsuit Outcomes
Bayer, Roundup’s manufacturer, has faced thousands of class action and individual lawsuits since acquiring Roundup from Monsanto in 2018. In 2020, Bayer agreed to pay $10 billion to end thousands of pending lawsuits. The rest was set aside to cover future claims.
Prior to that, numerous Roundup cancer lawsuits resulted in life-changing settlements for victims. There was the California couple, both with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma from Roundup, who won an initial $2 billion verdict in 2019.
That same year, a man in California won $80 million in a trial verdict after alleging Roundup caused his cancer diagnosis.
In 2018, a groundskeeper who used Roundup as part of his job on a regular basis was awarded $289 million in a landmark trial. The court agreed his non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma was likely caused by his exposure to Roundup. His award was later finalized at $78 million.

How Do We Know Roundup Could Cause Cancer?
we rely on decades of peer-reviewed research to show that your cancer diagnosis is linked to Roundup weed killer exposure. But, we only have to go back a few years to highlight a pivotal moment for Roundup cancer victims everywhere. In 2015, the WHO’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) determined that Roundup’s active ingredient, glyphosate, could be carcinogenic to humans. Glyphosate exposure was specifically tied to an increased risk of a type of cancer called non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which impacts the lymphatic system. The United States EPA and FDA still maintain that exposure to small amounts of glyphosate is harmless. But scores of other studies support the WHO’s initial report. Alarmingly, these studies have observed that prolonged Roundup exposure can lead to a 40-70% increased risk for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Roundup’s Entire Formula Under the Microscope
In 2021, Bayer announced it would remove glyphosate from its residential weed killer, effective January 2023. In attempting to avoid accountability for their dangerous product, Bayer points to reports from the FDA and EPA that insist glyphosate is not harmful to humans. However, current and future litigation focuses on the dangers of Roundup’s entire formula–not just glyphosate.
